A Family History of Scientific and Skin Care Expertise
A revolutionary concept in skincare: In the year 1949, pharmacist Dr. Richard A. Eckstein and his wife Linde decided to develop high-quality cosmetics based on natural science and a pharmaceutical foundation.
In 1957, Dr. Richard A. Eckstein became the first German scientist to win the internationally recognized award PRIX CIDESCO, for his achievements and contributions to the cosmetic industry. Throughout his career Dr. Richard Eckstein lectured and taught seminars at universities and cosmetology colleges and academies around the world.
In 1971 he wrote and published „Biokosmetik: Aus Forshung und Praxis“ (Biokosmetik: Research and Application), which describes his work and findings as a scientist, pharmacist and entrepreneur. In its seventh edition, this book still serves as standard reading for estheticians and beauty specialists as part of their educational training and as a reference in the field.
second & Third generation
A family tradition of leadership is now in its second generation under the direction of Dr. Gerd Eckstein and his wife Iris. Dr. Gerd Eckstein received his Ph.D. in pharmacology, specializing in pharmacognosy - studying plants' composition, active ingredients and their application.
A new generation is geared up to follow in her parents footsteps: daughter Verena is currently studying naturopathic medicine in the USA.
